Four Weekend Wins for DePauw's SCAC-Leading Basketball Teams

January 27, 2002, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw University's men's and women's nationally-ranked basketball teams added to their season's success stories with a pair of wins apiece this weekend at Neal Fieldhouse. The men's team, ranked 8th nationally in Division III, defeated Rhodes 78-67 Sunday afternoon, after crushing Hendrix College 102-63 on Friday night. In the Rhodes game, Mike Howland dished out a DePauw and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference single-game record 15 assists. With the wins, DePauw improved to 15-2 overall and 10-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, which they lead.
DePauw's women's team, also tops in the SCAC, have now won 15 straight contests. They knocked off Rhodes 73-68 on Sunday after downing Hendrix 52-38 on Friday night. The women, who are ranked 12th in the nation, are now 16-2 on the season and undefeated in eleven conference games. Read the Rhodes box score here and a summary of the Hendrix game here.
