4 Weekend Wins for Basketball Teams; 19 Straight for Women

February 10, 2002, Greencastle, Ind. - The Southern Athletic Conference-leading DePauw University men's basketball team upped its season record to 19-3 with two wins over the weekend at DePauw's Neal Fieldhouse. The Tigers posted a 81-54 win over Southwestern Friday night, then followed it up with a 68-66 victory over Trinity Sunday afternoon. You can read more about Friday's game by clicking here. DePauw's women's team, which also tops the SCAC, set a school record with their 19th straight win Sunday by defeating Trinity 79-66. Friday, the Tigers had five scorers in double figures in defeating Southwestern 77-65.The Saturday, February 9, 2002 Indianapolis Star (click here for story). The women's team is now 20-2 on the season and undefeated in fifteen conference games and has clinched at least a share of their fourth SCAC championship in as many years and earned an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III's tournament.
