112 Adds Up to A Great Concert April 13

March 19, 2002

March 19, 2002, Greencastle, Ind. - 112, an Atlanta-based hip-hop foursome, will bring their soulful harmonies to DePauw University's Lilly Center for a Saturday, April 13 concert. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are $15 and available through Ticketmaster. DePauw students can purchase $10 tickets in the campus life office of the Memorial Student Union Building.

112 formed at Atlanta's Walter Franklin George High School. "A teacher picked us four to sing at a school coronation," says band member Q. "We became a group by mistake. Afterwards somebody asked us to do a talent show." Rolling Stone.com says "It was their performance at the talent show that caught the attention of their present managers, Courtney Stills and Kevin Wales. After hearing the group, Still and Wales introduced them to Bad Boy Entertainment CEO Sean 'Puffy' Combs, who signed them to a record deal with his label."

112's albums include Part III, Room 112 and 112. Mike, another band member, says years of touring have made 112 a finely tuned ensemble. "We know, whatever the crowd, whatever the venue, we've got something for them, 112 will deliver, guaranteed."

Sponsors of the April 13th DePauw concert include Union Board, Men of Excellence in Cross Cultural Alliance (MECCA), and the Committee for Latino Concerns.
