Band Prepares for CD Recording with Sunday Afternoon Concert

April 18, 2002, Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw University Band, under the direction of Dr. Craig Paré, will present its final concert of the season this Sunday, April 21, at 3 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium. The concert will include four of the nine symphonic band works the ensemble will record later this month for its fourth compact disc.

Those selections are:

  • Flourish for Wind Band — Ralph Vaughan Williams
  • Toccata Marziale — Ralph Vaughan Williams
  • Serenade for Band, Op. 62 — Vincent Persichetti
  • Sonoran Desert Holiday— Ron Nelson

Inaugurated in 1996, the University Band's CD recording project has led to the release of three compact discs: Shadows of Eternity, Timepieces and Airs & Dances, which have met with critical and popular acclaim, and been distributed throughout the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, and Japan.
