David Greising '82 Named Chicago's Best News Columnist
August 12, 2002
August 12, 2002, Greencastle, Ind. - David Greising, business columnist for the Chicago Tribune and a 1982 graduate of DePauw University, is named the "Best News Columnist" in the latest issue of Chicago magazine, which features the "Best of Chicago." Greising is noted in the "Best of the Media" section. The magazine writes, "On the front page of the Tribune's business section, David Greising's witty and insightful pieces on various subjects-- which have ranged from the post-September 11 airline bailout to the state of Illinois' paltry share of tobacco settlement money-- almost always get to the heart of the matter."
Greising, a former Atlanta bureau chief for Business Week magazine, is also the author of I'd Like the World to Buy a Coke: The Life and Leadership of Roberto Goizueta, which was published in 1998. He honed his journalism skills as editor of The DePauw and returned to campus in April for the student newspaper's 150th anniversary celebration. Greising is a member of the University's Board of Trustees.
