Richard Bigelow '69 Joins Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP as COO

January 13, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - Richard C. Bigelow, a 1969 graduate of DePauw University, has joined Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP as its chief operating officer. Most recently, Bigelow served as the managing partner of Arthur Andersen's San Diego office. Founded in 1873, Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP is a national full-service law firm with offices in Carmel Valley/Del Mar, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, San Francisco and West Los Angeles.

"Dick is highly respected and well liked in San Diego's business community," said Robert D. Buell, Luce Forward's managing partner. "His extensive professional services experience will serve him well in this position."

As Luce Forward's chief operating officer, Bigelow becomes the top businessperson in the firm, with key leadership, strategic and operational responsibilities. He will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of Luce Forward and will also play a key role in the creation and implementation of strategic plans.

Active in the San Diego business and community sectors, Bigelow currently serves on the board of directors of the San Diego Police Foundation and also is a member of the Holiday Bowl and Presidents Associates of Palomar College. Bigelow previously served on the boards of directors of the Metropolitan YMCA of San Diego and the Wellness Community of San Diego. The recipient of a degree in economics from DePauw, Bigelow is also a member of the California and Ohio Societies of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
