Sunday Basketball Wins Keep DePauw Men Atop SCAC, Women #18 Nationally

February 3, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - "Jeremy Bettis scored 19 points and pulled down nine rebounds as visiting DePauw edged Millsaps," notes today's Clarion-Ledger of Jackson, Mississippi. "Joe Rinnger added 14 points and 11 rebounds for DePauw, 13-6, 8-1, which led 40-29 at halftime," continues the summary of Sunday's Tiger victory, which keeps DePauw atop the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Jeremy Bettis led the Tigers with 19 and became the 20th player in DePauw history to score 1,000 career points.

DePauw's women's basketball team also was victorious at Millsaps Sunday, prevailing in a 62-45 outcome. It marks the team's fifth straight win and 11th in the last twelve games. The women's team, now 16-3 on the season, is ranked 18th in Division III and is second in the SCAC.
