Both Hoops Teams Win; Men's Coach Bill Fenlon Ties All-Time Win Mark

February 10, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - "Joe Ringger scored 23 points and led five Tigers (15-6, 10-1 Southern Collegiate) in double figures for host DePauw," notes the Indianapolis Star in writing of Sunday's 98-63 victory over Hendrix. The win was the Tigers' sixth straight and 12th in the last 13 contests and marked the 182nd career victory for head coach Bill Fenlon (seen at left), tying the University record held by Elmer McCall, who led the Tigers from 1958-78.

The women's team, ranked 19th in the nation in Division III, was also victorious over Hendrix, 74-51. Dana Ferguson scored 24 and grabbed seven rebounds to lead DePauw to its seventh consecutive win and its 13th in the last 14 games.
