Cincinnati Enquirer Marks Entry of Nick Mourouzis Into 'Cradle of Coaches'

February 16, 2003

February 16, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - Today's edition of the Cincinnati Enquirer notes, "At halftime [of Saturday's basketball game with Marshall], Miami {University in Ohio] honored the six newest members of its Cradle of Coaches Association: former volleyball coach Peggy Bradley-Doppes, New York Giants defensive line coach Ron Marcin, former Hamilton High School basketball coach Marvin McCollum (posthumously), DePauw University football coach Nick Mourouzis, Ohio high school basketball coach Jim Rose and Florida football coach Ron Zook."

Mourouzis, a 1959 graduate of Miami, is in his 22nd season as head football coach of the DePauw University Tigers, posting a 133-82-4 record. Mourouzis, the winningest coach in DePauw history, ranks 12th among active NCAA Division III coaches in victories and 44th in winning percentage among active coaches with at least five years of head coaching experience. Only six Division III coaches with at least 20 years as a head coach have a higher winning percentage.
