HS Valedictorian, Student-Athlete and Lilly Endowment Scholar Coming to DePauw

June 5, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - Abigail J. Trainor, valedictorian of Knightstown (Indiana) High School's 2003 graduating class, "is a recipient of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship which will give her a four-year full scholarship to DePauw University in Greencastle. There she will major in exercise science and play basketball," notes an article in the Courier-Times of New Castle, Indiana.

The captain of her high school's basketball team, Trainor was named to the White River Athletic Conference team, the all-Henry County team and the Academic All-State team. She also served as a member of student council, senior class treasurer and treasurer of National Honor Society; as vice president of Business Professionals of America; and was a member of French club, speech and drama club and served as senior class representative Newspapers 011to the Henry County Youth Council. The article also notes that Trainor serves her church and is a guild volunteer at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield.
