DePauw Ties Will Run Deep in Saturday's Game with Hanover
September 15, 2003
September 15, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - "After two straight road games to open the season, Hanover can now return home for the Panthers' 2003 home opener at L.S. Ayres Field. [Head coach Wayne] Perry has already turned his attention to that opponent, his alma mater DePauw University," notes today's Madison Courier. Perry, head football coach at Hanover College for 22 years and the school's all-time winningest coach, is a 1972 graduate of DePauw University. Saturday, he'll face the Tigers, who are led by Coach Nick Mourouzis, in his twenty-third and final season, who is DePauw's all-time wins leader.
“DePauw has good talent on both sides of the ball, and we will have to be ready to go when Saturday rolls around,” Perry tells the newspaper. “It's the first home game of the year for us, and we have to make them count because we only have four home games this year.”
