September 19, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - For a third consecutive year, the Monon Bell Classic, one of college football's great rivalries, is being offered to fans of DePauw University and Wabash College on DVD. "It's the perfect way to remember what is almost always an afternoon filled with great plays, high emotions and the best of what college sports can be," says DePauw University director of media relations Ken Owen '82. DePauw and Wabash will jointly produce this year's DVD, which is available at a special “early bird discount.” Through November 14, fans can pre-order the 2003 DVD at a special price of $12 (copies of the disc will be $15 after that date). You can pre-order your disc by clicking here.

The film footage dates back to 1940. "If you love this game, and many alumni, students and friends of the two colleges do, the DVD is something you will really enjoy," says Jim Amidon, director of public affairs and marketing at Wabash College. "With the picture quality of DVD, it's almost like being in the stadium, and with your remote control, you can immediately jump to key points in the game. The 'Monon Memories' underscore the rich traditions of this old and cherished rivalry. For the players, their parents, alums and football lovers, it's a great package."

The first DVD was created to commemorate the thrilling 2001 game and was available through the Internet, campus bookstores and an Indianapolis Borders Books and Music store, and was also reviewed in the Indianapolis Star.

"The Monon Bell is a very unique rivalry, and its unusual, but terrific, that the two schools work together to produce this great document of the game. Given that this will be DePauw Coach Nick Mourouzis' final game, the 2003 Monon promises to be extra-special." Brent Harris, Wabash's SID, adds, "This is, to my knowledge, the only college football rivalry that produces a DVD, and has done so for three years."
