DePauw Junior Invited to Attend Selective National Conference

October 20, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - Nick Dimos, a DePauw University junior, is one of five college students from across the nation who have been selected to attend the Wingspread Conference on "Public Understanding, Public Policy and Public Support," October 27-29 in Racine, Wisconsin. The conference is presented by the Kellogg Forum on Higher Education and the Public Good, the Johnson Foundation, the American Association of State Colleges and Universities and the National Service Learning Clearinghouse, and will examine "strategies to strengthen the relationship between higher education and society."

Dimos is a Civic Intern at the Hartman Center for Civic Education and Leadership and his specific program is DePauw Community Service. Also a Media Fellow, he was selected as one of approximately 40 participants that include college presidents, media representatives, students, thought leaders and scholar/activists "who are committed to and have the requisite authority to advance strategies and actions to strengthen higher education's relationship with society" around the conference's theme.
