Chicago's Aguijon Theater Company Performs Sunday Afternoon

December 5, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - On Sunday, December 7, DePauw University's Performing Arts Series is proud to present Chicago's acclaimed Aguijon Theater Company performing La Casa de Bernarda Alba (The House of Bernarda Alba), by Federico Garcia Lorca. Lorca's last play depicts a reclusive household of eight women sequestered by Andalusian codes of honor. The performance, which will be presented in Spanish, will take place at 1 p.m. in Moore Theatre of the Performing Arts Center, and is free and open to all. English-language summaries will be provided.

Aguijon Theater Company of Chicago was founded in 1989 by Rosario Vargas. The company's mission is to provide quality Spanish language theater to Latino and non-Latino communities interested in the Latin American culture. At the same time, Aguijon provides creative and economic opportunities for Latino and non-Latino actors, directors and theater workers.
