DePauw Assistant Named Head Football Coach at Central College

January 1, 2004

January 1, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - Jeff McMartin, who has served as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach of DePauw University's football team since 2000, has been named head football coach at Central College in Pella, Iowa. McMartin, an alumnus of Central, replaces Rich Kacmarynski, who resigned last month after leading the program for seven years.

An article in Iowa's Oskaloosa Herald notes, "In his 14 years of coaching at the collegiate level, he has headed nearly every position in football and most recently served as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana. During his four years as offensive coordinator, DePauw has broken several school records and seen a dramatic increase in offensive production. He was also the head track and field coach at Beloit College for five seasons and was an assistant at DePauw for three."

"We're thrilled for Jeff, and this opportunity for him to return to his alma mater as a head coach is clearly one he couldn't pass up," said Page Cotton, director of athletics at DePauw. "DePauw thanks him for his service to the University and for the many student-athletes he's positively impacted."
