Prof. Eric Isenberg Receives AEFA's New Scholars Doctoral Award

March 14, 2004

March 14, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - Eric Isenberg, assistant professor of economics and management at DePauw University, is the recipient of the 2004 American Education Finance Association (AEFA) New Scholars Doctoral Award. The Award is intended to interest masters and doctoral students and recent graduates in conducting research in elementary, secondary, and higher education finance. Each year, the AEFA sponsors research to support promising new scholars who wish to investigate significant issues in education finance. Dr. Isenberg's award was announced at this weekend's annual AEFA Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Professor Isenberg joined the DePauw faculty in fall 2003. The AEFA award will provide him with a grant to complete a proposed research project, "Resolving the Master's Degree Premium Puzzle," and to present the results of his work at the AEFA's 2005 Annual Conference, March 17-19, 2005, in Louisville, Kentucky.

"Eric Isenberg was recruited to bring to the faculty a speciality in labor economics," says Neal Abraham, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty at DePauw. "We congratulate him, and are pleased to see that he is continuing his doctoral research at a level meriting recognition from the peers in his field."
