Brett Hecko '92 Named Boy's Basketball Coach at Seattle HS

April 24, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - Brett Hecko, a 1992 graduate of DePauw University, has been named head coach of the boy's basketball team at Bishop Blanchet High School in Seattle, Washington, the Seattle Times reports. Hecko, a history teacher at the school, had been serving as assistant girls basketball coach.

"Hecko, 33, succeeds Jerry Carr, 63, who retired as Blanchet coach in February after 10 seasons as head coach of the Braves and 27 as a head coach in his career," the newspaper writes. "Hecko has been on the Blanchet girls basketball staff under Terry Wilkinson for a total of eight years and was a graduate assistant at Seattle Pacific for women's basketball in 2001-2002. Hecko grew up in Indiana and played at DePauw University from 1988-92."
