July 14, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - In his "Tennis Mailbag" column on Sports, Jon Wertheim writes, "And here's an unsolicited, non-tennis recommendation: The Circus in Winter, by Cathy Day." The author, a 1991 graduate of DePauw University, has been collecting rave reviews since her book was released last week. noted, "Day's tales are at turns tragic, but magically told and sparingly ornamented with wry humor," while Kirkus Reviewsraved, "Funny and tough-minded, yet tender and touched with magic: this is a real find."
