July 23, 2004

July 23, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - At "the Hay-on-Wye book festival in Britain last month ... the people who run the Orange Prize for women's fiction asked a sample of 500 patrons to vote on their definitive 'must have' bookshelf of 50 books by living writers," observes Australia's The Age. The article notes, "it's gratifying to see quite a few of my favourites from recent years on the list [including] Barbara Kingsolver's The Poisonwood Bible."
