Tigers finish fifth at Denison

The DePauw men's golf team opened the 2003-04 season by shooting a two-round 598, but still finished fifth in the competitive field at the Denison Fall Classic. Ohio Wesleyan won with a 578 followed by Otterbein and Denison at 586 and Wittenberg at 596.
Brian Gooch led DePauw with a 147 which was good for a tie for 10th, while Matt Arient shot a 148 to tie for 16th. Each finished with collegiate bests for a two-round tournament.
Josh Abrams followed with a 151, while Jay Burkhardt shot a 153 and Michael Bergerson finished at 164. Ohio Wesleyan's Justin Schroeder was the medalist at 140.
