Tigers advance to regional finals with 1-0 win over Hope; face Wilmington on Saturday

Corinne Scott scored on an assist from Mary Beth Robinson at 78:58 to give fifth-ranked DePauw a 1-0 win over visting Hope in an NCAA Division III regional semifinal game at Boswell Field. Hope finished the season at 16-4-2, while DePauw improved to 14-4.
The Tigers advance to the regional final at 11 a.m. on Saturday against 24th-ranked Wilmington (19-3-1). The Quakers defeated Allegheny 1-0 on Katie Foucht's goal at 63:32 with an assist from Chrissy Bennett. The Gators outshot Wilmington 15-8 and held a 5-0 advantage in corners, but Jessica Bullens recorded nine saves for the Quakers. Allegheny closes its season at 15-2-2.
"The goalkeeper had the ball in her hands, bobbled it around a little," Scott said. "I just saw the ball and jumped at it, got it with my head."
DePauw dominated play throughout in the day's first game, holding a 20-4 shots advantage and a 14-1 edge in corners. DePauw outshot Hope 9-0 and the Flying Dutch's lone corner came in the final 10 seconds. Hope's best chance came in the first half when Erin Dargis' shot was deflected off of DePauw keeper Ali Glibkowski's hands and off the cross bar.
Holly Nestle totaled 14 saves for Hope, while Glibkowski totaled three for DePauw in posting the team's 11th shutout of the season.Back
