Tigers win sixth straight with 83-70 victory over Wittenberg

Greencastle, Ind. - Amy Argetsinger scored 20 and equaled a career-high with 11 rebounds, while Sarah Zondor added 19 points to lead 24th-ranked DePauw to an 83-70 win over visiting Wittenberg. DePauw improved to 6-1 with its sixth straight win, while Wittenberg dropped to 4-4.
DePauw built a 12-point halftime advantage at 36-24 after closing the first 20 minutes with a 7-0 run. After the hosts pushed the margin to 43-30 with 17:13 remaining in the game, Wittenberg battled back with an 18-4 run to take its first lead of the contest at 48-47 with 13:02 left. The visiting Tigers nailed four three-pointers during that span after going 0-for-5 during the first half.
The teams exchanged the lead five times over the next four minutes before DePauw grabbed the advantage for good on Mandy Harrison's layup with 9:17 remaining. The host Tigers led by just three at 68-65 before they scored the next nine points to push the margin to 77-65 with just 1:14 remaining. During the run, Wittenberg missed three shots and committed three turnovers.
Haley Warden paced Wittenberg with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Amber Bishop added 13 and Kathy Hittle 10. Bishop dished out six assists for the guests. Jordan Cuddy equaled a career high with 11 points and Lindsay Houin established a career high with 12 rebounds. Suzy Doughty led DePauw with three steals, while Tria Yoder and Harrison each had three assists.
DePauw outrebounded Wittenberg 39-32 and the host Tigers shot 53 percent from the floor while holding Wittenberg to just 43.3 percent.
