20th-ranked Tigers win fifth straight; stay in second in SCAC race

Greencastle, Ind. - Host DePauw shot 58 percent from the field, including 64 percent in the second half, and never trailed on the way to a 102-72 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over Oglethorpe. The 20th-ranked Tigers improved to 15-3 overall and 6-1 in the SCAC with their fifth straight victory, while Oglethorpe dropped to 5-12 overall and 2-5 in the SCAC.
DePauw held a 27-17 lead midway through the first half and then pulled away by scoring 12 straight over the next three minutes to take a 39-17 advantage. The Tigers went to the break with a 49-29 lead before leading by as many as 34 in the second half.
Amy Argetsinger led DePauw with 20, while Sarah Zondor followed with 19 and Lindsay Houin added a career-high 16. Erin Flynn led Oglethorpe with 20, while Nichole Gilleland and Megan Elliot each scored 13 and Brittany Corbett added 11.
The Tigers held a 39-29 edge on the boards with Colleen Powers leading the way with nine. Corbett paced the Stormy Petrels with six boards. Mandy Harrison dished five assists for the Tigers and Laine Bradshaw led Oglethorpe with five. Oglethorpe connected on 11 of 20 three-pointers including 8 of 11 in the second half.
DePauw returns to action on Monday, February 2, when it hosts Rose-Hulman at 6 p.m.
