Tigers defeat Rose-Hulman to conclude dual meet portion of season

Greencastle, Ind. - The Tigers won nine events and concluded the dual meet portion of their season with a 137-71 victory over visiting Rose-Hulman. DePauw improved to 5-6 on the season with the win.


Lauren Rakes was a double-winner for the Tigers with firsts in the 50 freestyle (26.32) and the 100 free (57.29), while Amy Ratliff won on both boards in diving competition with 206.5 points on the one-meter board and 208.55 points in three-meter competition.


Megan Davenport won the 1000 free in 11:26 while Meagan Goss took first in the 200 free in 2:08.21. Katie Beehler won the 200 back in 2:21.44 and Blair McCarthy was a winner in the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.93.


The Tigers' 200 medley relay of Beehler, McCarthy, Lauren Winter and Layne Kaufman won in 1:59.07.


DePauw now prepares to defend its 2003 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship when it competes in the conference championships in Cleveland, Miss., February 12-14.
