10th-ranked Tigers win 11th straight with 76-56 victory at Centre

Danville, Ky. - The 10th-ranked DePauw women's basketball team won its 11th straight game and improved to 21-3 overall and 12-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 76-56 victory over host Centre College. The Colonels dropped to 5-19 overall and 2-11 in the conference. DePauw remained in a first-place tie with Trinity in the SCAC standings with the victory.
Centre held just a 17-16 lead midway through the first half before the Tigers scored 18 straight points to take control of the contest. The inside combination of Colleen Powers and Amy Argetsinger combined for 13 of those 18 points which lifted DePauw to a 35-16 lead with 2:09 left in the half.
The Colonels pulled to within 12 at 43-31 in the first six minutes of the second half before Sarah Zondor scored seven straight and Tria Yoder buried a three to push the margin to 22.
Powers equaled a career high with 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Tigers. Jordan Cuddy added 13, while Zondor finished with 12 and Argetsinger added 10. Shelly Johnson led the Colonels with 21 points, while Jacqueline Coleman added 13 and Chelsea Wessel scored 10. Liz Braun grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.
