DePauw to Play Basketball Exhibition Game at Northwestern November 11

hanger102704.jpgNovember 2, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - "DePauw will meet Northwestern in an exhibition game November 11" at the Big Ten campus in Evanston, Illinois, the Terre Haute Tribune Star reports. The game, which tips off at 7 p.m. CST, will mark the exhibition opener for DePauw's basketball team, which competes in NCAA Division III. Northwestern is a Division I program.

The newspaper notes, "DePauw Coach Bill Fenlon graduated from Northwestern and played for the Wildcats. He coached at Rose-Hulman before going to DePauw and is in his 15th season at the Greencastle school." Read the article by clicking here.

Next week's game marks the first meeting between the Tigers and Wildcats since the 1945-46 season, when Northwestern defeated DePauw 67-36. The two universities have met four times in regular season games with each team winning twice. Read more here.
