November 15, 2004
GREENCASTLE, Ind. - DePauw sophomore linebacker Eric Lewis has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Tigers' 14-7 Monon Bell win at Wabash.
Lewis totaled nine tackles, including seven solos in the 111th meeting between the two schools. He also had two sacks for a loss of seven yards with his second sack coming on a third down play of Wabash's final drive that forced a 4th-and-11 just over one minute remaining. Lewis also forced a fumble (pictured) and had one quarterback hurry.
The DePauw defense posted its best game of the season by limiting Wabash to just 226 yards of offense and holding the Little Giants to their only single-digit point total of the season.Back
