Tigers ranked seventh in WBCA preseason poll

GREENCASTLE, Ind. - The DePauw women's basketball team can claim another preseason ranking as the Tigers enter the season ranked seventh in Division III in the USA TODAY/ESPN/WBCA Top 25 women's basketball poll.
Last year's Tigers advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship after winning their fifth Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title in their six years in the league. Earlier this fall, the Tigers were ranked eighth by D3hoops.com.
Head coach Kris Huffman begins her 12th season with the Tigers and leads three returning starters and 11 letterwinners from the 2003-04 squad. DePauw opens the season on Friday, November 19, when it hosts Kalamazoo in the first round of the DePauw Tipoff Tournament.
DePauw opens the 2004-05 season by hosting Kalamazoo College at 8 p.m. tomorrow in the second game of the DePauw Tipoff Tournament. The 6 p.m. game features Washington (Mo.) University (7th in coaches' poll and 10th in D3hoops.com rankings) against Illinois Wesleyan. Friday's losers meet at 2 p.m. on Saturday with the winners tangling at 4 p.m.
