Washington hangs on for 69-61 win over Illinois Wesleyan in Tipoff Tournament opener

GREENCASTLE, Ind. - Leslie Berger led four Washington (Mo.)double-figure scorers with 15, while Daniell Beehler, Sarah Schell and Katie Benson each added 10 as the Bears defeated Illinois Wesleyan 69-61 in the first game of the DePauw Tipoff Tournament and the season opener for both teams.

 

Heidi Harnisch led the Titans with 17 points followed by Hannah MeHarry with 16, Katie Blonn with 14 and Amanda Glerum with 12.

 

Washington advances to Saturday's 4 p.m. championship game, while Illinois Wesleyan will play in the 2 p.m. consolation contest.
