Debbie (Johnson) Darnell '72 Named 2005 Indiana Outstanding Middle School/Junior High Music Educator

Debbie Darnell 72.jpgJanuary 20, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - Deborah T. (Johnson) Darnell, an instrumental music teacher at Merrillville Intermediate School and 1972 graduate of DePauw University, has been named 2005's Outstanding Middle School/Junior High Music Educator by the the Indiana Music Educators Association. Darnell will be featured in the March 2005 issue of Indiana Musicator, the IMEA's journal.

The Outstanding Music Educator Award is designed to honor music educators in each of the following area: elementary; middle school/junior high; high school; and college/university. The awards are given to those teachers who have exemplified outstanding achievement in the field of music education. They were presented at the IMEA's 2005 convention last weekend in Indianapolis.
