Civil Rights Legend Vernon Jordan '57 to Keynote MLK Celebration in Austin, TX

vernon jordan.jpgJanuary 18, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - "Vernon Jordan, a civil rights activist and former advisor to President Bill Clinton, will deliver the keynote address Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency, marking the end of the week-long celebration" in Austin, Texas, of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, notes a story in the Daily Texan. Jordan is the former president of the National Urban League and a 1957 graduate of DePauw University.

Vernon Jordan delivered the keynote address at Minneapolis' Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Breakfast, held last January 19, where he was introduced by Steve Sanger, chairman and CEO of General Mills and a 1968 DePauw graduate.
