Zondor named SCAC Player of the Week

DSC_5211.jpgFebruary 22, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw senior guard Sarah Zondor has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her performances in last week's two wins.

Zondor averaged 18.0 points and 2.5 assists per game to help lead the 17th-ranked Tigers to victories over fourth-ranked Trinity and Southwestern. She also had three rebounds and two steals while playing just 26.5 minutes per game.

Zondor matched a season-high with 21 against Southwestern in just 23 minutes. She scored 10 points in the game's first four minutes against the Pirates and had 16 in the first half. For the weekend, Zondor shot 63.6% (14-22) from the field, including 50.0% (5-10) from three-point range.

Zondor is averaging 14.2 points per game (eighth in the SCAC) for the season and is ninth in the league in free throw percentage (78.8%) and 10th in three-point field goal percentage (34.7%).

DePauw, 21-4, opens SCAC Tournament play on Friday when they take on Southwestern in the day's third game at Rhodes College. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CST.
