Putnam County Student with DePauw in Sights Wins Lilly Endowment Scholarship

March 29, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - Alison Colvin, a senior at North Putnam High School, is the recipient of a 2005 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship and "plans to attend DePauw University with a major in biology and minor in mathematics followed by graduate study in cytotechnology," according to the Banner-Graphic. Colvin is one of two Putnam County students to receive the scholarship.

The newspaper adds, "The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship is a four-year scholarship to attend any Indiana public or private college/university accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It provides full tuition, fees, and a special allocation of $800 per year for required books and equipment for undergraduate study leading to a baccalaureate degree. The Lilly Endowment award could be valued at more than $140,000 for the four years of undergraduate study."Newspapers 011
