Shaffer sets school record; several Tigers compete in weekend meets

May 7, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - Natalie Shaffer set a school record in the 1,500-meter run by finishing fourth in 4:37.22 at the Billy Hayes Invitational.

Liz Ulrich placed second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 12:05.41. Janelle Frazier placed 11th in the discus at 39.40 meters and 18th in the hammer throw at 33.75 meters.

Amanda Royalty was 12th in the 1500 meters in 4:52.72 and Taylor Penrod was 15th in 4:57.62. Sarah Eiler was 12th in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:06.25 and Katie Gernand placed 14th in the 400 meters in 1:00.61.

The Tigers also competed at the Butler Twilight with Jessica Anderson winning the long jump at 5.49 meters. Laura Parks finished fourth in the 800 meters in 2:16.21 and Eiler placing fifth in the 400 hurdles in 1:08.52. Lauren Hill was seventh in the 400 hurdles in 1:11.61, while Frazier was seventh in the discus at 35.63 meters and 12th in the hammer throw at 35.31 meters.
