Susan Gabonay '74 is Finalist for 2006 Indiana Teacher of the Year

Susan Gabonay.jpgAugust 30, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - Susan Gabonay, who earned her masters degree in education at DePauw University in 1974, "was named Monday as one of 10 finalists for the 2006 Indiana Teacher of the Year," notes today's Indianapolis Star. "Gabonay teaches second grade at Brentwood Elementary" in Plainfield, the story continues. The winner of the award will be announced next month.

"The 10 finalists were selected on the basis of concern for students, ability to inspire learning and willingness to work with colleagues," the newspaper points out. "Gabonay, who is in her 35th year as a teacher at Brentwood, has a bachelor's degree from Indiana State University and a master's degree from DePauwDePauw Logo.jpgUniversity. In addition, she has a specialist in education degree from Butler University."
