Bellarmine tops Tigers, 2-1

September 21, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw dropped to 4-2 on the season following a 2-1 loss to visiting Bellarmine at McKeen Field. The Knights improved to 7-2 with the victory.

Sarah Roney scored the first of her two goals with just three seconds left in the first half and gave Bellarmine a 2-0 lead with an assist from Michelle Esterle with 33 minutes remaining in the second half.

The Tigers lone goal came with 15 minutes left as Julie Brayton scored with an assist from Emily Yates.

Bellarmine outshot DePauw 11-8, while DePauw held a 7-4 advantage in corners. Kaitlin Thomure recorded nine saves in goal for the Tigers, while Kristina Thomas had four for Bellarmine and Rachel Henderson had three.

DePauw travels faces Washington & Jefferson on Saturday in a game at Transylvania.
