DePauw Women Ranked #2 Nationally, Men 18th, in First Golf Poll of the Season

jay051005.jpgSeptember 27, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw University's women's golf team is ranked second in the nation in a preseason poll by Golfweek magazine, while "DePauw and Illinois Wesleyan tied at No. 18" in the initial Division III GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Men's Golf Poll of the 2005-06 gates05.jpgseason.

Defending national champion Methodist was ranked first in the women's poll, while Guilford, which also won the national title last year, tops the men's survey. Access Golfweek online here, and find the story of the men's poll at PGA.com.

The women's team finished third at each of the last three NCAA Division III Championships and fourth in 2002. The men ended last year ranked 14th in the final poll after finishing 14th at the NCAA Division III Championships.
