Sarah Mills "Sally" Butzin '67 Authors Joyful Classrooms in an Age of Accountability
November 2, 2005November 2, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - Sarah Mills "Sally" Butzin, executive director of the Institute for School Innovation and 1967 graduate of DePauw University, is the author of a new book. Joyful Classrooms in an Age of Accountability: The Project CHILD Recipe for Success has just been published by Phi Delta Kappa.
"This book challenges those involved in the system to chart a new course in elementary education, and she provides readers with an inside look at the innovative approach that is delivering results in classrooms across the nation," states a synopsis by the publisher. "The book includes case studies from participating schools and standardized testing data. It takes the reader inside real classrooms to hear the voices of the children, teachers and parents experiencing a new way of teaching and learning."
