DePauw Senior Wins State Vocal Performance Competition

November 15, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - Sarah Fox, a senior vocal performance major at DePauw University, won the Indiana State Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) competition, which was held at Ball State University on Saturday, November 12. She now moves on to the MTNA Regional Competition in January to compete against state winners from Illinois, Ohio and Michigan. The winner of the regional will then compete at the National Convention to be held in Austin, Texas in March 2006.

For her winning entry, Fox, a student of Professor Caroline Smith, prepared and performed an extensive 35 to 40 minute program which included opera arias, German Lieder, and French and American Art Songs.
