Six DePauw players earn all-SCAC honors; Federspiel named Defensive Player of the Year

November 18, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - Junior back Davis Federspiel led six Tigers named to the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Team in voting by the conference's 10 head coaches.
Federspiel (pictured) was voted the SCAC Defensive Player of the Year after helping the conference champion Tigers to a 0.56 goals against average including allowing just two goals in nine SCAC games. She was named the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week twice during the season and was a third team all-SCAC player in 2004.
In addition to Federspiel's first team selected, junior back Maureen Mohan and sophomore forward Emily Petrus were chosen to the second team. Mohan earned third team honors in 2003.
Junior midfielder Mary Beth Robinson, sophomore midfielder Sarah Hile and freshman goalkeeper Brooke Shipley earned third team honors. Robinson was a third team selection last year.
The Tigers finished the season with an 11-7-1 overall record and were 8-1 in SCAC play to capture their fourth conference title in eight years of SCAC competition. DePauw also made its fifth appearance in the NCAA Championship and advanced to the second round.
