Tiger women place second at DePauw Invitational

December 3, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw women totaled 698 points and finished second at the DePauw Invitational behind Wittenberg's 788 points. Complete results are available here.

Katie Doogan won three individual events with victories in the 200 individual medley (2:11.19; meet record), the 200 backstroke (2:12.53) and the 400 individual medley (4:39.40; "B" cut). Maddison Hamil also was a triple winner with firsts in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.78), the 100 freestyle (54.01) and the 50 free (24.50).

Amanda Stier won the 200 butterfly (2:10.34) and the 100 butterfly (59.76) and was fourth in the 50 free (25.49; meet record). Blair McCarthy took first in the 200 breast (2:33.61) and was second in the 100 breast (1:10.20).

Megan Davenport placed third in the 200 individual medley (2:15.67) and fourth in both the 500 free (5:25.85) and the 100 free (55.47).

Kelsey Warsinske was fourth in the 200 butterfly (2:16.56), fifth in the 100 butterfly (1:02.81) and sixth in the 400 individual medley (5:02.20).

Lauren Winter finished fourth in thee 1650 free (18:50.90), fifth in the 400 individual medley (5:01.61) and sixth in the 500 free (5:30.10). Kelly Niezer was seventh in the 200 breast (2:40.10) and eighth in the 100 breast (1:14.47), while Lindsay Schroeder placed eighth in the 100 back (1:05.99).

The Tigers won four relays and finished second in the other. The 200 free relay of Davenport, Carolyn Igoe, Stier and Hamil won in 1:40.21 as did the 400 free relay of Davenport, Stier, Doogan and Hamil in 3:37.24.

Doogan, McCarthy, Stier and Davenport won the 400 medley relay in 4:06.80 and the 200 medley relay of Doogan, McCarthy, Stier and Davenport took first in 1:51.37. The 800 free relay of Doogan, Winter, Hamil and Davenport placed second in 8:17.25.
