Ninth-ranked Tigers lead all the way in SCAC win over Centre

January 13, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - Ninth-ranked DePauw jumped out to a 38-15 halftime lead and scored the first 21 points of the second half to cruise to an 85-39 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over visiting Centre. The Tigers picked up their 13th straight win in improving to 14-1 overall and 4-0 in the SCAC, while Centre dropped to 2-11 overall and 0-4 in the SCAC.
The Tigers scored the first six points of the game and never trailed as they led by as many as 25 in the first half. A 21-0 run over the opening 6:30 of the second half pushed the margin to 44 and DePauw built as much as a 55-point lead at 79-24 with 6:35 left.
All 17 DePauw players saw action and 15 scored led by Bridget Bailey's 19 in just 16 minutes. Liz Bondi added 16 in just 15 minutes, while Lindsay Houin recorded her fourth career double-double with 11 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Ande Loveless led Centre with 15 points and eight rebounds.
DePauw shot 45.8 percent from the floor for the game including 52.9 percent in the second half, while Centre hit 32.1 percent for the game. The Tigers also held a 49-29 advantage on the boards and grabbed 25 on the offensive glass.
The Tigers host Sewanee on Sunday at 3 p.m., while Centre travels to Rose-Hulman for a 3 p.m. contest on Sunday.Back
