Tigers claim 15th straight win with 76-47 victory at Millsaps

January 20, 2006, Jackson, Miss. - The ninth-ranked DePauw women's basketball team improved to 16-1 overall and 6-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference following a 76-47 win at Millsaps. The Majors dropped to 6-10 overall and 1-5 in the SCAC. The win was the Tigers' 15th straight as DePauw is off to the best start in school history.
The Tigers finished the first half with an 18-4 run to go to the break with a 32-17 advantage. They then gradually built the margin to as many as many as 31 late in the game.
Liz Bondi and Lindsay Houin each scored 14 in the win with Kalei Lowes adding 11 along with a game and career-high seven rebounds. Suzy Doughty led the Tigers with six assists and shared the team lead with Houin with three steals. Lindsay Alderman paced Millsaps with 11 points and Leslie Frese grabbed five boards.
The Tigers shot 47.5 percent for the game including 51.6 percent in the second half, while Millsaps was held to just 34.8 percent and only 28 percent in the second half. DePauw held a 36-21 edge on the boards.
DePauw travels to Oglethorpe on Sunday for a 3 p.m. game, while Millsaps hosts Rose-Hulman on Sunday.Back
