Junior to Appear on TV's Price is Right Tuesday

February 3, 2006

Price is Right 1-2005.jpgFebruary 3, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw University junior Donald Person will appear as a contestant next week on CBS' The Price is Right. Person was among a group of DePauw students who spent the month in January in San Diego for a Winter Term in Service project working with homeless teens. On January 23, the students attended a taping of The Price is Right in Hollywood, and Person was called upon to compete. The episode airs Tuesday, February 7 at 11 a.m.

Person tells The DePauw that being called to "come on down" as a contestant "was pretty nerve wracking. I don't remember a lot of it, to be perfectly honest. I was so caught up in the moment." The nation will see how Person made out on Tuesday.

Donald Person was among a team of 15 from DePauw that spent last monthcbs logo.jpg working with StandUp for Kids (SUFK), an organization that provides support for street, homeless, and at-risk teenagers. Their efforts were spotlighted on San Diego NPR affiliate KPBS-FM, which welcomed DePauw senior Danny Shaver and Douglas E. Harms, professor of computer science at the University, to its These Days program January 16.
