Tigers remain fifth in both national hoops polls

February 7, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw women's basketball team, winners of 20 straight games, is ranked fifth in both the D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll and the USA Today/ESPN Division III Coaches' Poll. The Tigers picked up one first place vote in the coaches' poll.
DePauw improved to 21-1 overall and 11-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 103-85 win over Hendrix on Friday and a 69-64 victory over Rhodes on Sunday.
The Tigers' 21 wins is the most in Division III this season and their .955 winning percentage ranks second. DePauw's 20-game win streak equals the school and SCAC record set by DePauw in 2001-02 and conference record also established by Hendrix in 1996-97. The win streak matches that of Mary Washington's as the longest current streak in the nation.
DePauw returns to action on Friday, February 10, when it travels to Centre for a 6 p.m. contest The game can be heard live on WGRE.
