Tigers head to SCAC Tournament as fifth-ranked team in nation

DSC_1346.jpgFebruary 21, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - Following Saturday's 72-61 victory over Rose-Hulman, the DePauw women's basketball team remained ranked fifth in both the Top 25 Poll and the USA Today/ESPN Division III Coaches' Poll. The Tigers picked up one first place vote in the coaches' poll.

DePauw improved to 24-1 overall with Saturday's victory and became the fourth women's team in 15 seasons to complete SCAC play unbeaten at 14-0.

The Tigers have won and SCAC and school-record 23 straight games including a conference-record 26 straight SCAC home games.

DePauw opens play at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday, February 24, when they square off with Millsaps at 6 p.m. CST at St. Benedict at Auburndale just outside of Memphis. Saturday's semifinal games and Sunday's championship tilt will take place at Rhodes College.
