Newspaper That Was Edited by DePauw Freshman Wins National Award

April 13, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - "Sarah Hughes, now at DePauw University, was last year's editor" of Carmel High's School's student newspaper, the HiLite, and her efforts have resulted in a national award for excellence, reports today's Indianapolis Star. The Columbia Scholastic Press Association has honored the HiLite with a Silver Crown award, the third consecutive year the paper has been honored by the CSPA.
The Star notes, "Of 1,472 magazines, newspapers and yearbooks eligible to win Crown awards, 62 earned either a Gold or Silver Crown -- the first and second highest awards, respectively -- in the high school paper category."
