Stephanie Mellenbruch '02 Honors Lilly Scholars in Her Hometown

April 26, 2006

April 26, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - Stephanie S. Mellenbruch, a 2002 graduate of DePauw University, presented Jackson County, Indiana's two winners of the 2006 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship at an event, notes a story in the Seymour Daily Tribune. "Mellenbruch, who was the first Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship recipient in Jackson County, attended DePauw for four years before graduating with a double major in political science and religious studies and moving on to graduate from Regent University, the only Christian law school in the nation."

"I was fortunate and blessed to be a recipient of the Lilly Endowment (Scholarship), and, including myself and the two new recipients, there have been 21 Lilly Scholars from Jackson County, with 10 attending colleges and universities throughout the state of Indiana in the upcoming school year," Mellenbruch tells the newspaper.

"This year’s recipients (Karissa Glenn and Jordyn Stewart) are two of the nicest women I’ve ever met, and I don’t really understand how they fit everything in they have done in school," Stephanie Mellenbruch says in the story. "They’re both at the top of their classes academically, top in leadership positions and activities, organizations ... they excelled in everything, and we have no doubt they’ll excel in whatever they do in the future."
