Tigers stay alive in SCAC Tournament with 15-1 win over Sewanee

April 28, 2006, Winchester, Tenn. - DePauw defeated Sewanee 15-1 in game four of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. The Tigers will play Rhodes on Saturday at 10 a.m.
The Tigers scored five times in the first, once each in the second and third and four each in the sixth and seventh innings. Sewanee plated its lone run in the seventh.
DePauw pounded out 16 hits including six doubles and a homer led by Matt Kleine and Jeremy Dickinson with three each. Matt Deahl and Eric Reese each had two in the win as 10 different players collected base hits. Zach Harris and Reese each drove in three runs and Harris hit a three-run homer in the first to start the scoring. J. R. Candlish and Carter Thurman each totaled two of Sewanee's six hits.
John Kihlken improved to 6-4 with the win after allowing just one run and six hits over seven innings. Josh Curtis dropped to 2-7 after allowing seven runs in 2 2/3 innings.
