Wallace J Nichols 2006.jpgJune 15, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - Wallace J. Nichols, a marine biologist and conservationist with the California Academy of Sciences and 1989 graduate of DePauw University, will be featured on the June 22 episode of Animal Planet's Get Out There!. The program airs at 8 and 11 p.m. (EST) that evening on the national cable channel.

Get Out There! transports American families on VIP nature tours into stunning wilderness areas to see an amazing array of wildlife. Guided by biologists, each family ventures into the backcountry to learn about wild animal behavior in America's top national parks and other spectacular locations.

The June 22 program features Dr. Nichols showing the Ellis Family the wonders of Baja, California's Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park. Nichols, the Ellises and a team of local experts and conservationists get close to whales, sea turtles, Animal Planet Logo.jpgdolphins and manta rays. They also snorkel Cabo Pulmo reefs and hike to nearby waterfalls.

"What's so great about this show is that it's about regular families having the time of their lives doing eco-travel," says J. Nichols. "Caring for special places and animals begins with each family. The kids' lives are changed forever."
